Using the transit time differential measuring principle, the OPTISONIC 7300 delivers high performance over a wide flow range (up to DN600 / 24", turndown ratio: 100:1). Its patented titanium transducers are perfectly focused, equalizing process fluctuations and avoiding acoustic feedback.

The OPTISONIC 6300 is an ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeter for permanent mount installation. It is particularly suitable for flow measurement of (non-)conductive liquids at any location where inline measurement is not possible or desirable. The flowmeter consists of a combination of one or two clamp-on sensors and one ultrasonic signal converter. Its robust clamp-on rail is highly flexible and can be very easily attached to virtually any pipe up to DN4000 / 160".

The OPTISONIC 6300 P is a portable, battery-powered ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeter for temporary flow measurement of (non-)conductive liquids. Due to its flexibility, the meter is equally suited for comparative measurements on stationary measuring equipment (e.g. pumps, flowmeters etc.) or for use as a short-term replacement of faulty devices. As standard the clamp-on flowmeter is also provided with a measurement option for thermal energy applications.

The OPTISONIC 3400 is a 3-path ultrasonic inline flowmeter designed for a wide range of standard or more demanding process applications with homogeneous, non-viscous aqueous liquids as well as viscous fluids of up to over 1000 cSt. It is also the perfect choice for applications with cryogenic products (as low as -200°C / -328°F), media with extended temperature ranges (up to +250°C / +482°F) as well as low or extreme pressure ratings. The OPTISONIC 3400 offers a broad range of diameters – from DN25 / 1" for dosing purposes to DN3000 / 120" for water transportation pipelines.

The OPTIBATCH  4011 is the standard Coriolis mass flowmeter for process batching of conductive and non-conductive liquids. In this Water Talk interview, Cheryl Ades Anspach, marketing manager with Badger Meter, offers a non-invasive alternative using easily retrofittable clamp-on ultrasonic meters offering accuracy to + 0.5 percent and flow rates to 33,000 gpm in pipes up to 48” diameter. Two palm-sized rail-mounted transducers provide simpler, more affordable installation than having to shut down or cut into a live pipeline or bring in heavy equipment to install a full-bore mag meter. Built-in datalogging backup (8 GB) with time-date stamp granularity down to one second provides ample opportunity for detailed flow analysis.

Process instruments are used widely in water and wastewater treatment plants to monitor the effluent quality. However, their applications are not limited to monitoring effluent quality. These water and wastewater quality monitoring devices can be applied throughout the network of collection, treatment, and disposal

Instrumentation can give guarantee of proficient treatment processes of water quality parameters such as turbidity, pH, ORP, conductivity and dissolved oxygen.  Instrumentation is done in the following aspects.

Platforms on which instrumentation can be carried out include

  • Stationary vertical profilers – Used for in situ sampling.
  • Flow-through systems -Most research ships have built-in flow-through systems that constantly circulate water collected a few meters from the surface.
  • Towed vehicles- towed vehicle such a system is able to provide a continuous series of data points for remote sensing applications where transect lines can follow the flight paths of a remote sensor.
  • Moored platforms - These stationary, or Eulerian, platforms offer data streams synoptically that match with satellite-based imagers.
  • Automated underwater vehicles - Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) afford their own propulsion there by allowing high-resolution sampling of the ocean’s interior in multiple directions.
