Duperon Corporation is pleased to announce the promotion of Jerry Schlicker from controls engineer to engineering manager. In his new role, Schlicker is accountable for the design, development, onboarding and implementation of all Duperon products. Duperon product owners and detail manager report to Schlicker and the team is responsible for managing and maintaining all process, quality, document controls, systems, data, applications rules, drawings and all product-related materials that maintain the integrity of each Duperon product throughout its lifecycle. Duperon President Mark Turpin will continue to supervise the Duperon R&D team of Ken Blanchard and Bryce Funchion.
“We saw in Jerry an ability to lead others,” Turpin commented on Schlicker’s promotion. “Leadership at its core is about influencing others to do something that they wouldn’t do otherwise, something that causes a positive outcome. As controls engineer, Jerry was instrumental in the success of important changes within the controls group, and the team he’s now leading watched him step up to help create a smooth transition. The team respects him for that, and it made perfect sense for Jerry to move into this role. He brings maturity, stability, process, and accountability to the team and his style leads others to success.”
Turpin continued, “Each Duperon employee is committed to our customer. Jerry brings a unique perspective to this position because of the application-specific water treatment knowledge he gained as a controls engineer. Jerry has a deep understanding of our customer’s process that will benefit his team and ultimately our customers.”
As a member of the executive management team, Schlicker reports to Turpin and is accountable for setting goals for the team that support and sustain the company’s strategic platform. A key component of Schlicker’s new role is to generate the culture within his team and with others he interacts with. He works in partnership across internal platforms and external stakeholders to ensure that Duperon standards are met and the motto “you’ll like working with us” is achieved.
Jerry holds an associate degree in electrical engineering technology from Delta College. Before joining Duperon, he worked for fifteen years in electrical, instrumentation and controls (EI&C) engineering in a fumed silica chemical plant in Midland, Michigan. When he’s not helping solve the world’s water problems or working in his shop, Jerry loves to be outdoors, hiking, canoeing and spending time with family and friends at his cabin.
